SEMI-TRAILER UNITS VS. VAN BODIES

LifeLine offers health vans in sizes from 30 to 75 ft. long. Lengths over 40 ft. are almost always a semi-trailer unit, while under 40 ft. are single van body units. Which chassis style is better depends on the criteria that you set for your interior space needs:

The advantages of semi-trailers

• More space. Semis offer from 35 to 250 percent more space than single body units.
• More dependable. With the pulling tractor separate from the clinic, if you have an engine or transmission problem, another tractor can do the job.

The advantages of single-body vans

• Easier to drive. Single body units are more compact, and easier to park.
• Less costly to operate. Easier and less expensive to license than semis, these van body units are the most popular size that we manufacture.
